We’re kicking off the summer #teamsono!!! Can you believe it?
Here’s what’s going down this summer in sonography. =)
Quick reminder, we updated our How to Perform Ultrasafe Ultrasounds Certification Program from HEPA Air Purifiers to Gel Maintenance. What does that mean? It means mandatory program recomms will no longer include air purifiers in each ultrasound room. Should you keep them? Yes, absolutely. There’s nothing wrong with keeping the air in your ultrasound room circulating and clean, and it should be encouraged, but is no longer mandated as part of our program. Making sure that your ultrasound gel maintenance is on point however, is part of the program and we cannot wait to see how this benefits patients, providers, and practices.
We’re officially in the summer season and as usual there’s so much going on in ultrasound. So here’s the fresh hot tea!
Let’s start with today’s date being June 23, 2023, marking a very special date for some literature in sonography. Specifically, it’s been one year ago since an article entitled “Combating Workplace Musculoskeletal Injuries in the Radiology Community.” was released by Joan Baker and Tricia Turner, whoever that is. This article was interpreted by many, it looks ALOT like “The Sonographer Specific Work-Related Musculoskeletal Soft Tissue Recovery Offense Playbook, ” but the only cite credit given on the article was to those associated with the authors. When this information was released to the public. It clearly infuriated not only Joan Baker and Tricia Turner, whoever that is, because they dropped lawsuit on Ultrasafe Ultrasound and they used Inteleos to back their priorities and resources of silencing in sonography.
As you know, this is what Ultrasafe Ultrasounds was built on, and we continue to do the educational work to ensure that safety is prioritized over silence and special interest groups. So to celebrate that effort we are going to show you some visuals of some literature by Joan Baker and Tricia Turner, whoever that is.
Please enjoy… it’s astonishing the level of control they have the audacity to assume.

“I, Joanna Hall and Ultrasafe Ultrasound Diagnostic Services LLC, sincerely apologize for the false accusation that an article by Joan Baker and Tricia Turner entitled “Combating Workplace Musculoskeletal Injuries in the Radiology Community” and published by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Council plagiarized from a paper I wrote entitled “The Sonographer Specific Work-Related Musculoskeletal Soft Tissue Recovery Offense Playbook” I strongly regret any harm that my false accusation has caused Ms. Baker, Ms. Turner or ARDMS.” – SIGNED NOT JOANNA HALL

The statement above here reads as Joan Baker, Tricia Turner, and others named as petitioners, or parties of interest wanted it to…
and cc’ed @ Mr. CEO of Inteleosland himself, Dale Cyr.
THEY DEMANDED A PROMINENT POSTING FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS OF THIS PRE-WRITTEN QUOTE W/ MY NAME ATTACHED
OR ELSE… THEY’RE COMING TO TAKE HALF A MILLY … bully much?
PS. THEY LOST!
Because we at Ultrasafe Ultrasounds refused to write this pre-statement the way it was demanded and quoted for execution, Inteleos, Joan Baker, and Tricia Turner. Unsuccessfully sued and now owe defendants a great deal of money, to which the judge said was much less than he was willing to sanction them for their harassing behavior and attempt to use resources to silence those who speak up or out in opposition of the work in industry they are in total control over.
So, to celebrate the one year anniversary of such an incredible article by the unsuccessful plaintiff’s, we decided to publish, on their behalf, more of their work. Which read more like a ransom statement… If you don’t write this sentence were going to sue you for half $1 million. Yet their basis for suing for false and defamatory statements, was in it of itself, false.
So, before everybody goes and starts paying their annual dues to Inteleos this year, send them a quick hashtag and ask the #ARDMS, did you pay your legal dues yet? We’re all waiting…
On happier news, where resources are being utilized for empowerment and not oppression, Ultrasafe Ultrasounds would like to welcome the Northwestern region to #Teamsono. Our learning platform is growing all the time and we love when new DMS programs include #ErgoMechanics into their #curriculum.
These institutions ensure that their students receive the most #comprehensive training in #sonography to achieve longevity in the field and able to prevent, or at least avoid, injury for as long as possible in their #sonographershoulder.
We believe that when you educate and empower your workforce, the results you will yield will benefit patient, provider, and practice.
So as we continue our journey this summer to achieve safety in sonography, we remind you to make sure that you are optimizing your #STR as often as possible.
How do you do that? The possibilities are endless! The easiest thing you can do is drink some water and get some rest. The hardest thing that you can do is absolutely nothing. And believe me, you find the results of that troubling to recover from.
So before you pop another ibuprofen and hide any symptoms your shoulders are feeling, and before you get mad at management for not doing anything about it, make sure you’re doing everything that you can in your power to stay informed and healthy, and remember that silence kills and your health and wellness are not worth your credentials. Speak up, say something when you see something, and if you feel your shoulder trying to talk to you. Don’t silence it, listen to it and STR, STR, STR =)
Be sure to join us on the learning platform & get all the in-depth information on how to stay in Offense of space of Soft Tissue Recovery by keeping your sonographer’s shoulder strong …or how you can return from the Defense realm of Scar Tissue Rehabilitation.

Reminder: IMPORTANT SAFETY IN SONOGRAPHY UPDATE:
Federal Rulemaking: How to make REAL change in a industry battered by injury. Your chance to be heard by OSHA is on deck #teamsono.
(in our best Montell Jordan voice) This is how we do it…
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is asking for stakeholder input on their current use of leading indicators and their impact on managing their safety and health management systems.
THIS IS WHERE WE SHOW UP SONOGRAPHERS!
Leading indicators are proactive and preventive measures that can provide insight on the effectiveness of safety and health activities and reveal potential problems.
THIS IS WHERE WE SHOW UP SONOGRAPHERS!
They are vital in reducing worker fatalities, injuries, illnesses, and financial impacts. AGAIN…
THIS IS WHERE WE SHOW UP SONOGRAPHERS!
As OSHA considers developing a Leading Indicators Resource, the agency welcomes stakeholders to share their experience and expertise and provide detailed feedback on how/where they are used at their workplace.
Sonographers, send your responses to the following questions to USUS or directly to OSHA Stakeholder, Joanna Hall, so they can be heard on July 17th. We will be representing #Sonography, #Sonographers, and #SafetyinSonography for an #industry riddled in #injury.
QUESTIONS INCLUDE:
- What leading indicators are, or could be, commonly used in your industry?
- How do you determine the effectiveness of your leading indicators?
- How could employers be encouraged to use leading indicators in addition to lagging indicators to improve safety management systems?
- What barriers and challenges, if any, have you encountered to using leading indicators?
Send over your feedback to info@ultrasafeultrasounds.com by July 15th 2023
in time for our Stakeholder meeting with OSHA on July 17, 2023.
For more information, see the OSHA Trade Release
Also, be sure to SIGN THE #CAPTHECASELOAD Campaign petition and comment your story in sonography.
